6/30/08 Honolulu >> Power 104.3 listeners were treated to a meet and greet opportunity with members of America's Best Dance Crew season one winners "the Jabbawockeez" at Streetbeat 2008 on Sunday, June 29th. The dance group spent the weekend holding workshops for Streetbeat Masters with local dance enthusiasts along with three world re-nouned choreographers Chuck Maldonado, Derryl Bullock and Luam.

The Jabbawockeez present were Phi, Joe, KB and Cris. It was a chance for Power listeners to get up close and personal with the members of Jabbawockeez. The backstage meet and greet was a certainly an experience not just for listeners but with the members as well as they chopped it up with on air winners who presented them with lei's. "They were very cool!" said one listener from Waipahu. The members of Jabbawockeez are still surprised at the kind of attention they get on the streets. "This is so new to us, I'm still not used to it...having people ask for my autograph" said Phi of the Jabbawockeez. I'm not sure how you can say "This event was falsely advertised". All the promos I heard about the event sais members of Jabbawockeez would be there. Maybe people should pay attention before spending their parents hard earned money. If you think you can do beter, you should be an event promoter.

Blaisdell Event
This event was falsely advertised. We radio listeners were led to believe that the Jabbawockeeze would perform. Instead, when we got there, we got flyers saying that only a few members of the krew were there and that they would be dancing individually. We weren't informed of the fact that we'd have to watch 2 hours of amateur performances just to watch 5 minutes of individual Jabbawockeeze dancing. Horrible event just like the 50th state fair. You pile people into the area and don't have seats. No one beyond the first 3 rows of people can see a thing. GOODBYE $30!
